ABBOKINASE DESCRIPTION:
UROKINASE - INJECTION (you-row-KYE-naze)

ABBOKINASE SIDE EFFECTS:
Dizziness or mild fever may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: easy bruising or bleeding; skin rash, breathing trouble; a rapid or abnormal heartbeat; chest pain; tingling or numbness of the hands/feet. Immediately report: signs of bleeding. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE ABBOKINASE:
ABBOKINASE: ABBOKINASE is given by injection by a health care professional. It is important ABBOKINASE be used as prescribed. It is most effective when administered as soon as possible after symptoms appear (e.g., within 6 hours of onset of chest pain).

ABBOKINASE WARNING:
Internal bleeding may be more difficult to control with ABBOKINASE than with other anticoagulant therapy. ABBOKINASE must be used in a hospital setting. It should be started as soon as possible after lung blood clots have been noticed (pulmonary embolism), preferably within 7 days. Urokinase should be given within 6 hours of the first symptoms of a heart attack associated with evolving myocardial infarction.

ABBOKINASE USES:
ABBOKINASE is an enzyme which works to break up and dissolve blood clots which can block arteries. It is used in the treatment of pulmonary embolism or blood clots. It may also be used to clear blood clots from catheters.

ABBOKINASE PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing bleeding disorders, high blood pressure, endocarditis; recent biopsy or surgery; recent injury, any allergies. Use extra caution to avoid injury and trauma (e.g., carefully brushing teeth) while using ABBOKINASE due to the increased risk of bleeding. Consult your doctor regarding the possible risk that ABBOKINASE contains infectious material. ABBOKINASE should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if ABBOKINASE appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

ABBOKINASE DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: blood thinners, NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen), aspirin. Drugs that can reverse effects of urokinase include: aminocaproic acid, aprotinin, tranexamic acid. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

ABBOKINASE OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

ABBOKINASE NOTES:
Laboratory tests will be done frequently while using this medication to monitor its effects and to prevent side effects.

MISSED ABBOKINASE DOSE:
Continued dosing is usually not necessary for this medication.

ABBOKINASE STORAGE:
Store powder vial in refrigerator at 36-46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C). Reconstituted solution should be used immediately after reconstituting. Discard any unused portion.
