Drug Name: AGRYLIN

AGRYLIN DESCRIPTION:
ANAGRELIDE - ORAL (ann-AGG-rah-lide)

AGRYLIN SIDE EFFECTS:
Headache, diarrhea, unusual weakness, nausea, dizziness may occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Notify your doctor promptly of any shortness of breath, swelling, stomach or chest pain, rash, itching or tingling sensations. Unlikely but report promptly any irregular or fast heartbeat, one-sided muscle weakness in arms or legs, black stools, fainting, mental changes, vision problems, unusual bleeding or bruising or pink colored urine. Very unlikely but report promptly any unusual change in the amount of urine. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE AGRYLIN:
AGRYLIN: AGRYLIN is taken by mouth 2 or 4 times daily for at least one week. The dosage is then adjusted to an effective dose, keeping your blood counts closer to normal. Dosage should not exceed 10 mg daily. Generally, blood counts begin to respond within 2 weeks.

AGRYLIN USES:
AGRYLIN is used to treat a blood disorder (high platelet count) which can cause blood clots to form. The drug reduces the number of platelets in the bloodstream.

AGRYLIN PRECAUTIONS:
Before using AGRYLIN, tell your doctor your entire medical history, including any allergies (especially drug allergies), heart, kidney or liver disease. Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggravate side effects. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. AGRYLIN should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether AGRYLIN is excreted into breast milk. It is recommended to discontinue the drug or not breast feed, taking into account the risk to the infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

AGRYLIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially sucralfate. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

AGRYLIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual bleeding and bruising.

AGRYLIN NOTES:
Do not share AGRYLIN with others. Lab tests will be done to monitor the effectiveness and possible side effects of AGRYLIN.

MISSED AGRYLIN DOSE:
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

AGRYLIN STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
