Use of AUGMENTIN for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral or vaginal yeast infection). Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HOW TO USE AUGMENTIN:
AUGMENTIN: Shake well before each dose. Take AUGMENTIN as directed by your doctor, usually every 8 or 12 hours. AUGMENTIN should be taken with food. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take AUGMENTIN at evenly spaced intervals. Continue to take AUGMENTIN until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection.
AUGMENTIN USES:

AUGMENTIN PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: blood disorders, kidney problems, allergies to penicillin or other antibiotics. Before using AUGMENTIN, tell your doctor if you are pregnant. AUGMENTIN passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
AUGMENTIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may take, especially of: probenecid, disulfiram, birth control pills, tetracyclines. AUGMENTIN may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. This antibiotic may cause false positive results in diabetic urine testing using Clinitest. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
AUGMENTIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
