BENEFIX DESCRIPTION:
FACTOR IX, HUMAN RECOMBINANT - INJECTION (FACK-ter nine)

BENEFIX SIDE EFFECTS:
Fever, chills, tingling, itching, headache, flushing, nausea and vomiting have been reported. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, breathing trouble, redness/pain/warmth in the calf, skin rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HOW TO USE BENEFIX:
BENEFIX: BENEFIX is given by injection by a health care professional. The dose and length of therapy is based on your condition and response.
BENEFIX USES:
Factor IX is a part of blood needed for clotting which stops bleeding. Persons with low Factor levels are at risk for bleeding. BENEFIX is used to prevent or control bleeding episodes in persons with low Factor levels (hemophilia, Christmas disease). It is also used to reverse the effects of warfarin blood thinner.
BENEFIX PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, liver disease, any allergies. Remind your doctor you are using BENEFIX if you are scheduled for any surgical or dental procedures. BENEFIX should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if BENEFIX is found in breast milk. consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
BENEFIX DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, including: aminocaproic acid. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
BENEFIX OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
BENEFIX NOTES:
Laboratory tests may be done periodically while taking BENEFIX to monitor its effects and guide therapy.
MISSED BENEFIX DOSE:
If you miss a dose, check with your doctor for instructions.
BENEFIX STORAGE:
