BUMINATE DESCRIPTION:
ALBUMIN - INJECTION (al-BYOU-min)

BUMINATE SIDE EFFECTS:
BUMINATE is generally well tolerated. However, allergic reactions have been reported. Discontinue use and notify your doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms while taking BUMINATE: fever, chills, flushing, hives, skin rash, itching, headache, nausea, breathing difficulty, rapid heart rate. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE BUMINATE:
BUMINATE: BUMINATE is administered by injection into a vein. The dose and frequency of use of BUMINATE will be determined by your condition and response to therapy. Follow your doctor's instructions closely and be sure to ask any questions you may have about this therapy.

BUMINATE USES:
Albumin is the protein portion of the blood. It is important in maintaining blood volume. It is used in the treatment of shock, burns or low blood protein to temporarily correct or prevent a blood volume deficiency.

BUMINATE PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, blood disorders, anemia or any allergies especially to protein. BUMINATE should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if BUMINATE appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

BUMINATE DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

BUMINATE OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

BUMINATE NOTES:
Blood tests and other laboratory tests will be done frequently during therapy to monitor the effectiveness of this medication and to prevent side effects.

MISSED BUMINATE DOSE:
It is important that each dose be used as directed. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

BUMINATE STORAGE:
Store BUMINATE at room temperature as directed. Do not use if this contains particles. Check the expiration date on the label and properly discard of any unused medication after that time.
