Drug Name: CERVIDIL

CERVIDIL DESCRIPTION:
DINOPROSTONE - VAGINAL SUPPOSITORY (dye-no-PROST-own)

COMMON CERVIDIL BRAND NAME(S):
Cervidil, Prostin E2

CERVIDIL SIDE EFFECTS:
Vomiting, fever, diarrhea, headache, chills and dizziness may occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor immediately. Report immediately: fainting, chest pain/tightness, trouble trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE CERVIDIL:
CERVIDIL: CERVIDIL is used vaginally. Bring the suppository to room temperature and remove the foil before use. The drug is inserted high in the vagina, and you must remain in a reclined or lying down position for 2 hours after insertion. More doses are given at 3-5 hour intervals until desired effect occurs. CERVIDIL is used for a maximum of 2 days.

CERVIDIL USES:
CERVIDIL is used to produce an abortion. It is also used for certain conditions of the womb.

CERVIDIL PRECAUTIONS:
Before using CERVIDIL, tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies), pelvic infections, heart disease, kidney problems, liver disease, lung disease, asthma, high or low blood pressure, anemia, diabetes, seizure disorder, infections in the vaginal area, womb scarring, previous cesarean section (c-section) birth, uterine surgery. CERVIDIL is not indicated for use if the fetus is mature enough to survive apart from the womb. CERVIDIL should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether CERVIDIL is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

CERVIDIL DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: other drugs that can stimulate the uterus (oxytocics) such as other prostaglandins (e.g., misoprostol). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

CERVIDIL OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

CERVIDIL NOTES:
Use under direct medical supervision.

MISSED CERVIDIL DOSE:
If a dose is missed, consult with your doctor to establish a new dosing schedule.

CERVIDIL STORAGE:
Store in a freezer not above -4 degrees F (-20 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
