CYSTADANE DESCRIPTION:
BETAINE - ORAL (BEE-tuh-een)

Cystadane

CYSTADANE SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea, stomach upset, or diarrhea may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE CYSTADANE:
CYSTADANE: Take by mouth, generally 3 grams twice daily or as directed by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Learn all the usage instructions in the product package insert and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unclear on any information. Shake the bottle before each use. Measure out the number of scoops prescribed by your doctor with the scoop provided. Mix the powder with 120ml to 180ml (4 to 6 oz) of water until dissolved and drink immediately. The powder may also be added to juice, milk, formula or food instead of water. Replace cap tightly after use.

CYSTADANE USES:
CYSTADANE is used to treat high levels of homocysteine (homocystinuria), a protein building block.

CYSTADANE PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, including: any allergies. CYSTADANE should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown whether CYSTADANE is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

CYSTADANE DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

CYSTADANE OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

CYSTADANE NOTES:
Do not share CYSTADANE with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor your progress.

MISSED CYSTADANE DOSE:
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

CYSTADANE STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
