Drug Name: EMGEL

EMGEL DESCRIPTION:
ERYTHROMYCIN BASE - TOPICAL GEL (eh-rith-row-MY-sin)

COMMON EMGEL BRAND NAME(S):
A/T/S, Emgel, Erygel

EMGEL SIDE EFFECTS:
EMGEL may cause burning, redness, peeling, flaking or dry skin especially the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms continue, become worse or you develop a skin rash, notify your doctor. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE EMGEL:
EMGEL: EMGEL is for topical use only. Clean and dry the affected area as directed. Then apply a small amount of the medication on the skin. A thin layer is all that is needed. Do not use large amounts, apply this more often or use this for a longer period than directed. Your condition will not clear faster, but the chance for side effects may be increased. Avoid contact with the eyes or inside the nose and mouth.

EMGEL USES:
EMGEL is an antibiotic used on the skin to control acne. It contains a large amount of alcohol, which aids in drying excess oils from the skin.

EMGEL PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: previous illnesses or infections, any allergies (especially to other antibiotics). EMGEL should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if EMGEL is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

EMGEL DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

EMGEL OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

EMGEL NOTES:
For optimal results, EMGEL is often used as part of a total skin care regimen.

MISSED EMGEL DOSE:
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

EMGEL STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat. Check the expiration date on the tube and discard any expired medication.
