GASTROCROM DESCRIPTION:
CROMOLYN LIQUID - ORAL (CROW-mow-lin)

Gastrocrom

GASTROCROM SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea, gas, skin rash, itching, muscle aches, stomach pain, or headache may occur. If any of these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: mood changes; burning of the mouth or throat. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE GASTROCROM:
GASTROCROM: The medication is usually taken at least 30 minutes before meals and at bedtime as directed. It is important to take GASTROCROM at evenly spaced intervals so follow your doctor's directions carefully. Do not swallow the ampules. The contents of the ampules are used to make a solution. To make the solution, break open the ampule(s) and squeeze its liquid into a glass of water. Stir the solution well. Drink all of the solution. When mixing the solution, drink all of it immediately. Do not mix it ahead of time. This dosage form of cromolyn is not to be used for inhalation or injection.

GASTROCROM USES:
Cromolyn is used to treat symptoms associated with mastocytosis such as diarrhea, flushing, headache, nausea and vomiting.

OTHER USES OF GASTROCROM:
GASTROCROM may also be used to prevent food-allergy reactions.

GASTROCROM PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: kidney disease, liver disease, any allergies. Usage in children under 2 years old is generally not recommended but there may be exceptions. Consult the child's doctor. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before taking this medication. It is not known if GASTROCROM is excreted into human breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

GASTROCROM DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

GASTROCROM OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include coughing or wheezing, trouble breathing, excess tearing, and difficult or painful urination.

GASTROCROM NOTES:
Do not share GASTROCROM with others.

MISSED GASTROCROM DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

GASTROCROM STORAGE:
Keep the ampules in their foil pouches at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light until ready for use. Do not store in the bathroom.
