GEOCILLIN DESCRIPTION:
AMOXICILLIN, CARBENICILLIN, BACAMPICILLIN - ORAL

COMMON GEOCILLIN BRAND NAME(S):
Amoxil, Geocillin, Spectrobid, Trimox, Wymox

GEOCILLIN SIDE EFFECTS:
GEOCILLIN may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Inform your doctor if the following rare side effects occur: sore mouth, sore throat, fever, easy bruising or bleeding. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE GEOCILLIN:
GEOCILLIN: Take GEOCILLIN exactly as directed by your doctor. GEOCILLIN may be taken with or without food. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do this by taking the medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to take GEOCILLIN until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow and may result in a relapse of the infection.

GEOCILLIN USES:
GEOCILLIN is a penicillin-related antibiotic that is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

GEOCILLIN PRECAUTIONS:
Before using GEOCILLIN tell your doctor your medical history especially: kidney disease, stomach/intestinal problems, blood disorders, allergies to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, any other allergies. Use of GEOCILLIN for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Before using GEOCILLIN, tell your doctor if you are pregnant. GEOCILLIN is excreted into breast milk and may have an effect on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

GEOCILLIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor and pharmacist of all medications you may use both prescription and nonprescription, and especially: birth control pills, live vaccines, tetracycline. GEOCILLIN may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

GEOCILLIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures, agitation, confusion, tremors hallucinations, unconsciousness, muscle weakness, or headaches.

GEOCILLIN NOTES:
GEOCILLIN has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. A different medication may be necessary in those cases.

MISSED GEOCILLIN DOSE:
If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose.

GEOCILLIN STORAGE:
Keep at room temperature between 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom.
