HAWTHORN DESCRIPTION:
HAWTHORN (Crataegus sp.) - ORAL

HAWTHORN SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea may occur. If this effect persists or worsens, contact your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects: dizziness, chest pain, unusually fast or irregular heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE HAWTHORN:
THIS PRODUCT: Hawthorn should only be used on the advice of your doctor. It may take several weeks for hawthorn to have a noticeable effect. Take this product by mouth as directed. Follow all instructions on the product package, or as directed. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.

HAWTHORN USES:
Hawthorn has been used to treat various heart and circulatory problems such as chest pain (angina), an irregular heartbeat, hardening of the arteries, and low blood pressure. The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

HAWTHORN PRECAUTIONS:
If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using this product: heart problems (e.g., angina, congestive heart failure); high or low blood pressure. Liquid preparations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or liver disease. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safe use of this product. Hawthorn should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

HAWTHORN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may use, especially heart/blood pressure medications such as: beta-blockers (e.g., atenolol, metoprolol), calcium channel blockers (e.g., diltiazem, verapamil), ACE inhibitors (e.g., captopril, lisinopril), angiotensin blockers (e.g., losartan, valsartan), digoxin.

HAWTHORN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include sleepiness, weakness, fatigue, and dizziness.

HAWTHORN NOTES:
Keep all regular medical and laboratory appointments.

MISSED HAWTHORN DOSE:
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
