HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL SIDE EFFECTS:
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL is generally very well tolerated. Burning, minor skin irritation, itching, dryness, acne-like areas, change in skin pigmentation or skin thinning infrequently occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor. This product may stain skin or fabric. Unlikely but report promptly: severe skin irritation. Very unlikely but report: vision problems, headache, unusual increase in thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HOW TO USE HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL:
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL: Apply a thin layer of medication to the affected area of skin as directed, generally three to four times daily. Keep the medication away from the eyes. Do not bandage, wrap or cover the area treated unless you are instructed to do so by your doctor. Do not use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on children being treated with HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL in the diaper area. Continue to use HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL USES:
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL is used to treat skin infections, various skin problems (e.g., dermatitis, eczema) or outer ear conditions.
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL PRECAUTIONS:
Before using HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL, tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies). Use of HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL for prolonged periods may result in infection with resistant bacteria. Though very unlikely, it is possible HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for children and for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. This precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use. Iodoquinol may interfere with thyroid and phenylketonuria (PKU) tests. Consult your doctor if these tests are to be done. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL NOTES:
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to others. A different medication may be needed in those cases. Inform all your doctors you use (or have used) HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL.
MISSED HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL DOSE:
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
HYDROCORTISONE IODOQUINOL STORAGE:
Store at room temperature away from light and moisture.
