LARIAM DESCRIPTION:

LARIAM SIDE EFFECTS:
LARIAM may cause stomach upset, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, insomnia or lightheadedness. These effects should subside as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your doctor. LARIAM may cause dizziness or restlessness. Use caution when driving or engaging in activities requiring alertness. Call your doctor if you develop unexplained anxiety, mood changes, depression, restlessness or confusion as your doctor may tell you to stop taking LARIAM. If you experience any allergic reactions such as flushing, itching, skin rash, breathing difficulties or vision problems, stop taking the medication and contact your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HOW TO USE LARIAM:
LARIAM: Take with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. Do not take this on an empty stomach. Take LARIAM as prescribed for full course of treatment. It is important you not miss any doses and that you take the drug on a regularly scheduled basis.
LARIAM USES:
LARIAM is used to treat and prevent malaria.
LARIAM PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history including any psychiatric disorders, heart problems, seizure disorders and any allergies you may have, especially allergies to other drugs. Use with caution in children. LARIAM should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.
LARIAM DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of beta-blockers (e.g., atenolol, propranolol), chloroquine, quinine, quinidine and valproic acid. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
LARIAM OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include vomiting and diarrhea.
LARIAM NOTES:
Periodic eye examinations are recommended while taking LARIAM.
MISSED LARIAM DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
LARIAM STORAGE:
Store at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
