LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT DESCRIPTION:
LICORICE (Glycyrrhiza glabra) - ORAL

LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT SIDE EFFECTS:
Unlikely but report promptly: headache; swelling of the ankles/feet/hands; muscle pain or weakness; irregular heartbeat. Very unlikely but report promptly: stomach discomfort. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT:
THIS PRODUCT: Take this product by mouth as directed. Follow all directions on the product package. If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist. This herbal product should not be used for more than 4-6 weeks unless otherwise directed by your doctor. If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.

LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT USES:
Licorice root has been used to treat ulcers, and also the common cold (cough suppressant and expectorant action). The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT PRECAUTIONS:
If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using this product: liver problems, kidney problems, heart problems, high blood pressure, low potassium levels, severe muscle spasms, diabetes. Liquid preparations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or liver disease. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safe use of this product. Licorice is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using this product. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this product is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may use, especially: hormones (e.g., mineralocorticoids such as fludrocortisone); digoxin, insulin; "blood thinners" (e.g., warfarin); "water pills" (diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide or furosemide), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone).

LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include bloating or swelling of ankles, feet, or hands; sluggishness; muscle pain or weakness; numbness of the legs or arms; weight gain; irregular heartbeat; lack of feeling alert; and trouble walking.

LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT NOTES:
Keep all regular medical and laboratory test appointments.

MISSED LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT DOSE:
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
