LIORESAL INTRATHECAL DESCRIPTION:
BACLOFEN - INJECTION (BACK-low-fen)

LIORESAL INTRATHECAL SIDE EFFECTS:
Constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, headache, trouble sleeping; change in amount or frequency of urine; loss of appetite, change in sexual ability, or changes in pulse may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Unlikely but report promptly: fainting, pink urine; mental/mood changes. Very unlikely but report promptly: chest/leg pain; seizures, difficulty speaking; numbness/tingling; fever, vision changes, unsteadiness, swelling. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HOW TO USE LIORESAL INTRATHECAL:
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL: LIORESAL INTRATHECAL is injected into the spinal cord (intrathecal) as directed by your doctor. Dosage is adjusted based on your condition and response to therapy. Follow all instructions for proper dilution with the correct fluids. Consult your pharmacist. LIORESAL INTRATHECAL product should be checked visually for particles or discoloration before use. If present, do not use the liquid. When used for extended periods, LIORESAL INTRATHECAL may not work as well and may require different dosing. Consult your doctor if this medication is not relieving the muscle spasms sufficiently. Do not stop treatment abruptly; consult your doctor. Make sure needles and medical supplies are stored safely and disposed of properly.
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL USES:
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL is used to treat muscle spasms.
OTHER USES OF LIORESAL INTRATHECAL:
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL may also be used for the treatment of facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia), uncontrolled movements or muscle twitching (e.g., tardive dyskinesia) and rigidity (Parkinson's disease).
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, including: any allergies, diabetes, seizures, kidney disease, strokes; stomach/intestinal ulcers; mental/mood disorders. Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggravate certain side effects of LIORESAL INTRATHECAL. Caution is advised when performing tasks requiring alertness (e.g., driving). To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a seated or lying position. Caution is advised when LIORESAL INTRATHECAL is used in the elderly, as they may be more sensitive to the side effects of baclofen. LIORESAL INTRATHECAL should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether LIORESAL INTRATHECAL is excreted into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using LIORESAL INTRATHECAL is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially drugs causing drowsiness, such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines, anti-seizure drugs, other muscle relaxants, certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). Check all nonprescription medicine labels carefully, especially cough-and-cold preparations, since many may contain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine) which can cause drowsiness. Consult your pharmacist if you have any questions. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, lightheadedness, dizziness, slow or shallow breathing, seizures, loss of muscle tone, and loss of consciousness.
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL NOTES:
Do not share LIORESAL INTRATHECAL with others.
MISSED LIORESAL INTRATHECAL DOSE:
Not applicable.
LIORESAL INTRATHECAL STORAGE:
Before dilution, store at room temperature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. For information on product stability after dilution in the correct fluids, consult your pharmacist. Discard any unused portion of the ampule or cartridge.
