MAXALT MLT DESCRIPTION:
RIZATRIPTAN DISINTEGRATING TABLET - ORAL (rizz-uh-TRIP-tan)

MAXALT MLT SIDE EFFECTS:
Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, or headache may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: mental/mood changes, chest discomfort, neck/jaw discomfort. Very unlikely but report promptly: irregular or fast heartbeat; unusual weakness, vision changes; cold/tingling/numb hands and feet; stomach pain, bloody diarrhea; fainting or unsteadiness; swelling, trouble breathing, itching, rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE MAXALT MLT:
MAXALT MLT: Take MAXALT MLT as directed for migraine. Learn proper use of this product. Do not open the outer pouch until the dose is needed. Open the packaging with dry hands and place the tablet on the tongue, where it will dissolve and be swallowed with your saliva. Consult your pharmacist. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response. If no relief occurs after the first dose, consult your MD or pharmacist. Doses are generally separated by at least 2 hours. In the U.S.: do not exceed 30 mg in a 24 hour period. In Canada: according to the drug manufacturer, do not exceed 20 mg in a 24 hour period.

MAXALT MLT USES:
MAXALT MLT is used to treat acute migraine attacks. MAXALT MLT does not prevent future migraine attacks.

MAXALT MLT PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: any allergies; heart or blood vessel disease/stroke; kidney disease, liver disease, intestinal disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes; family history of heart problems; smoking history; certain metabolic disorders (phenylketonuria). Limit alcohol intake, as it may aggravate drug side effects. Caution is advised when performing tasks requiring alertness (e.g., driving), as MAXALT MLT may cause drowsiness or dizziness. MAXALT MLT should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether MAXALT MLT is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

MAXALT MLT DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Do not use rizatriptan within 24 hours of taking ergot-type drugs (e.g., dihydroergotamine, ergotamine, methysergide), "serotonin-type" drugs (e.g., fluoxetine, sertraline), other "triptan" drugs (e.g., sumatriptan). Do not use rizatriptan within 2 weeks of having used an MAO inhibitor (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). Tell your doctor of all other prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: propranolol, nefazodone, venlafaxine, sibutramine, . Tell your doctor if you use medications that make you drowsy such as: sedatives, tranquilizers, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines, certain muscle relaxants, anti- anxiety drugs, anti-seizure drugs, antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

MAXALT MLT OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual dizziness or drowsiness; slow, fast or irregular heartbeat; and vomiting.

MAXALT MLT NOTES:
This product contains phenylalanine (via aspartame). Medical tests will be done to monitor for drug side effects.

MISSED MAXALT MLT DOSE:
Not applicable.

MAXALT MLT STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
