MICRAININ DESCRIPTION:
ASPIRIN WITH MEPROBAMATE - ORAL (ASP-er-in WITH meh-PRO-buh-mate)

Equagesic, Micrainin

MICRAININ SIDE EFFECTS:
Stomach upset, headache, blurred vision, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficult urination may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor promptly if you develop a rapid heart rate, fainting, black stools, hearing loss, easy bruising, dark urine, yellowing eyes, mental confusion or hallucinations. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE MICRAININ:
MICRAININ: Take this with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Take MICRAININ with 6 to 8 ounces (180-240ml) of water. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking MICRAININ. Use MICRAININ exactly as prescribed. Do not increase your dose, use it more frequently or use it for a longer period of time without your doctor's approval. Also, if used for a long period of time at high doses, do not suddenly stop using this without first consulting your doctor. When used for extended periods, MICRAININ may not work as well and may require different dosing. Consult your doctor if the medication isn't relieving the pain sufficiently.

MICRAININ WARNING:
Children and teenagers should not use aspirin, aspirin- containing or aspirin-related medications for flu symptoms or chickenpox without first consulting a doctor. A rare but serious illness known as Reye's syndrome may occur.

MICRAININ USES:
MICRAININ is a skeletal muscle relaxant in combination with aspirin, used to relieve pain and discomfort associated with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

MICRAININ PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of kidney disease, liver disease, seizures, prostate or bladder problems, myasthenia gravis, ulcers or intestinal problems, asthma, nasal polyps, bleeding disorders, glaucoma and of any allergies, especially allergies to aspirin. Because MICRAININ contains aspirin, children and teenagers should not take MICRAININ if they have chickenpox, influenza or undiagnosed illness without first consulting a doctor about Reye's syndrome, a rare but serious illness. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. Limit alcohol intake. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. This medicine may cause stomach bleeding. Daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Check with your doctor or pharmacist for more information. MICRAININ is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using MICRAININ. MICRAININ is excreted into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

MICRAININ DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may use including medication for depression or seizures, narcotic pain relievers, sleeping pills or sedatives, "blood thinners" (anticoagulants such as warfarin, heparins, NSAIDs), corticosteroids and methotrexate. Aspirin is an ingredient in many over-the-counter products. To prevent an overdose of aspirin, read the labels carefully before taking other pain relievers or cold products to be sure they do not contain aspirin. Consult your pharmacist if you are uncertain your over-the-counter products contain aspirin. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

MICRAININ OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, sluggishness, loss of muscle coordination, vomiting, stomach pain, rapid breathing, ringing in the ears, and sweating.

MICRAININ NOTES:
MICRAININ is used in addition to rest, physical therapy or other measures prescribed to relieve your condition. Since MICRAININ may make you temporarily feel better, do not try to speed your recovery by exercising or lifting too soon. It may cause further muscle damage. Follow your doctors orders.

MISSED MICRAININ DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

MICRAININ STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom.
