NUTRILIPID DESCRIPTION:
FAT EMULSIONS - INJECTION

NUTRILIPID SIDE EFFECTS:
The most common side effect of intravenous nutrition is infection or irritation of the vein at the administration site (catheter). This should be reported to your doctor. Also report: shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, headache, flushing, sweating, sleepiness. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience: itchy hives, sudden weight gain, fever, chills, yellowing of the skin or eyes, darkening urine, bruising, stomach pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE NUTRILIPID:
NUTRILIPID: Allow all bags or bottles to warm to room temperature before using. This nutritional supplement is administered intravenously as directed by a certified health care professional. It is infused over a predetermined time period stated on the bottle.

NUTRILIPID WARNING:
I.V. fat emulsions must be used with extreme caution in premature or low birth weight infants. Fats have been reported to build up in their lungs and fatalities have occurred. These infants must be carefully monitored when using IV fat emulsions.

NUTRILIPID USES:
Fats are used by the body as a source of calories needed to provide the energy and nutrients for various bodily functions. NUTRILIPID is used in people who are unable to eat properly.

NUTRILIPID PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions, such as: kidney disease, digestive disorders, other illness, any allergies. NUTRILIPID should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if NUTRILIPID is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

NUTRILIPID DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

NUTRILIPID OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

NUTRILIPID NOTES:
Make sure needles, tubing, and supplies are stored safely and disposed of properly. The special tubing supplied for fat emulsion must never contain a filter. Do not use any bottle in which a separation of the emulsion has occurred. Check all expiration dates and keep all bags or bottles in proper sequence. Notify your doctor if you have allergies to eggs or soybean. Your nutritional status will be closely monitored. Based on this your formula may need to be changed to accommodate your nutritional needs.

MISSED NUTRILIPID DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and contact your doctor to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

NUTRILIPID STORAGE:
Store unopened containers at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Mixed fat emulsions should be refrigerated and used within 24 hours. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
