Diarrhea or nausea may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Unlikely but report promptly white patches in the mouth or unusual vaginal discharge/itching. Very unlikely but report promptly changes in amount or color of urine, stomach pain, persistent fever, easy bruising or unusual fatigue. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE OMNICEF:
OMNICEF: Take OMNICEF by mouth with or without food, as directed. Shake the liquid suspension well before each use. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do this by taking the medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to use OMNICEF until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection. Avoid taking antacids containing magnesium or aluminum, sucralfate, iron preparations or vitamin/mineral products within 2 hours of taking OMNICEF. These products may bind with the medicine and prevent its absorption.

OMNICEF USES:
OMNICEF a cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat certain bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, ear infections and skin infections.

OMNICEF PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, including any allergies (especially to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics such as cefuroxime), bowel disease (colitis) or kidney disease. Use of OMNICEF for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). This medicine contains sugar which may increase blood sugar levels in diabetics. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using OMNICEF. In a small test, cefdinir was not shown to be excreted into breast milk. However, other drugs related to cefdinir are excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

OMNICEF DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially gout medication (e.g., probenecid), antacids (with aluminum or magnesium), vitamins/minerals, iron supplements or sucralfate. Though unlikely, OMNICEF may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about other types of birth control. OMNICEF may interfere with certain laboratory tests. Inform lab personnel you are using OMNICEF. OMNICEF may cause false positive results in tests for sugar in the urine. Diabetics should use TesTape rather than Clinitest tablets to test for sugar when using OMNICEF. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OMNICEF OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

OMNICEF NOTES:
OMNICEF has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to others. A different medication may be needed in those cases.

MISSED OMNICEF DOSE:
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

OMNICEF STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Discard any unused liquid after 10 days.
