PANCREATIN DESCRIPTION:
DIGESTIVE AIDS - ORAL

COMMON PANCREATIN BRAND NAME(S):
Cotazym, Creon, Donnazyme, Pancreatin, Viokase

PANCREATIN SIDE EFFECTS:
Generally PANCREATIN is very well tolerated and side effects are mild if they occur. Diarrhea, cramping or stomach upset may occur when starting treatment. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Although very unlikely to occur, notify your doctor if you develop: skin rash, severe stomach distress. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE PANCREATIN:
PANCREATIN: PANCREATIN works best if taken with or after meals. Antacids may hinder the effects of PANCREATIN. Do not take an antacid at the same time as PANCREATIN. Wait at least two hours between administration.

PANCREATIN USES:
PANCREATIN contains digestive enzymes which help digest and absorb foods. It is used to treat symptoms of pancreatitis or other various digestive disorders.

PANCREATIN PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if your are allergic to the following: pork. PANCREATIN should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if PANCREATIN appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

PANCREATIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all medicines you may use including prescription and nonprescription, especially: antacids that contain calcium and/or magnesium, iron. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

PANCREATIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include diarrhea or upset stomach.

PANCREATIN NOTES:
Do not change brands without first checking with your doctor. Do not share PANCREATIN with others.

MISSED PANCREATIN DOSE:
Take any missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time for the next dose. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose.

PANCREATIN STORAGE:
Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom.
