HYDROCORTISONE BUTEPRATE - TOPICAL (hi-dro-KOR-tih-sown BYOU-tih-prayt)
COMMON PANDEL BRAND NAME(S):
Pandel
PANDEL SIDE EFFECTS:
Burning, pain or redness at the application site may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Unlikely but report promptly itching, extra hair growth, changes in skin appearance, dryness or thinning of the skin. Very unlikely but report promptly vision problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, nausea, unusual weakness, weight loss, or dizziness. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HOW TO USE PANDEL:
PANDEL: Clean and dry the affected area. Apply a thin layer of the medication to the affected area and massage gently until the medication disappears. PANDEL is generally used once or twice daily until the skin condition is healed, or as directed by your doctor. Use PANDEL on the skin only. Do not allow the medication to get into the eyes. Do not use PANDEL on the face, underarms, groin area or diaper area unless directed by your doctor. Do not bandage, wrap or cover the affected area while using PANDEL, unless directed to do so by your doctor. If the affected area worsens or does not heal within 2 weeks, contact your doctor.
PANDEL USES:
This is a corticosteroid medication used to treat certain skin conditions (e.g., dermatitis or psoriasis). Do not use this medication to treat diaper rash.
PANDEL PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, including any allergies, diabetes, liver disease or current skin infections. Though very unlikely, it is possible PANDEL will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for children and for those who have used PANDEL for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. This precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of PANDEL. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Use with caution in children, as they may be more sensitive to the effects of PANDEL, including possible growth pattern changes. Consult their doctor for more details. PANDEL should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether PANDEL is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
PANDEL DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially other corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone) or drugs you apply to your skin. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
PANDEL OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
PANDEL NOTES:
Do not share PANDEL with others. PANDEL has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for a skin condition unless told to do so by your doctor. A different medication may be necessary in those cases. Inform all your doctors you use or have used PANDEL. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor your progress.
MISSED PANDEL DOSE:
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
PANDEL STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 - 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
