PREVPAC DESCRIPTION:
LANSOPRAZOLE/AMOXICILLIN/CLARITHROMYCIN - ORAL (lan-SO-pruh-zole/uh-mox-eh-SILL-in/kluh-RITH-row-MY-sin)

PREVPAC SIDE EFFECTS:
Headache, dizziness and abnormal taste may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Report diarrhea promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: nausea, stomach pain, dark or bloody stools. Very unlikely but report promptly: chest pain, sudden weakness, vision changes, unusually fast or irregular heartbeats, vomiting, mouth sores, tongue discoloration, muscle pain, persistent sore sore throat with fever, unusual bruising or bleeding, yellowing of the eyes or skin, mood/mental changes, increased thirst or hunger, change in amount or color of urine. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, fainting, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE PREVPAC:
PREVPAC: Take by mouth exactly as directed by your doctor, usually one dose (which contains four pills) twice daily before a meal. Swallow each pill whole. Do not divide, crush or chew. Each packet contains both the morning and evening dose of your medicines (one day supply). Consult your pharmacist or doctor for instructions on the proper use of this product. If also taking sucralfate, this product should be taken at least 30 minutes before the sucralfate dose. Finish your entire treatment even if your symptoms improve.

PREVPAC USES:
PREVPAC is used to treat and help prevent certain types of ulcers (ulcer with H. pylori infection).

PREVPAC PRECAUTIONS:
Before using PREVPAC, tell your doctor your entire medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies), liver or kidney disease, asthma or other lung disease, high blood pressure, diabetes. Limit alcohol intake, as it may worsen certain side effects of PREVPAC. Since PREVPAC may cause dizziness, use extreme caution if operating machinery or performing hazardous tasks (e.g., driving). PREVPAC should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. The amoxicillin in this product is excreted into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using PREVPAC is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of this drug, therefore caution is advised.

PREVPAC DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: cisapride, pimozide, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, certain antihistamines (e.g., terfenadine, astemizole), theophylline, "blood thinners" such as warfarin, digoxin and other heart medications (e.g., disopyramide), zidovudine, certain drugs for high cholesterol (e.g., lovastatin), drugs for blood pressure (e.g., propranolol), drugs for diabetes (e.g., glyburide), bromocriptine, anti-seizure medications (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin, valproate), drugs for migraines (e.g., dihydroergotamine, ergotamine), drugs for sleep (e.g., triazolam), barbiturates (e.g., hexobarbital), certain narcotic pain relievers (e.g., alfentanil). Sucralfate may reduce the absorption of the lansoprazole in this product. Lansoprazole may decrease the absorption of iron supplements (e.g., ferrous sulfate), digoxin and certain antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole). Consult your pharmacist or doctor. PREVPAC may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

PREVPAC OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

PREVPAC NOTES:
Do not share PREVPAC with others. Laboratory tests may be performed to monitor side effects. This product has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection/ulcer. A different medication may be necessary in those cases.

MISSED PREVPAC DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

PREVPAC STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
