PROTROPIN SIDE EFFECTS:
Headache, fatigue or muscle pain may occur. If these symptoms continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: hip pain, knee pain, unusual weakness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE PROTROPIN:
PROTROPIN: PROTROPIN is given by injection into a muscle or under the skin. It is usually given three times a week. For best results, PROTROPIN must be given exactly as prescribed. Do not use more of PROTROPIN than prescribed or use it more often since the risk of side effects will be increased. It is important to understand your therapy and to follow your doctor's instructions closely. Be sure to ask your doctor any questions you may have.

PROTROPIN USES:
PROTROPIN is a growth hormone. It is used to stimulate growth in children who do not produce enough growth hormone of their own.

PROTROPIN PRECAUTIONS:
PROTROPIN is for use in children only. It should not be used in adults or during pregnancy. Tell your doctor if you have a history of: tumors, other illnesses, allergies (especially to benzyl alcohol).

PROTROPIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

PROTROPIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache; nausea; vomiting; and bloating or swelling of ankles, feet, or hands.

PROTROPIN NOTES:
Laboratory tests will be done routinely while taking this medication to evaluate its effectiveness and prevent side effects. Keep all doctor's appointments and laboratory visits so your therapy can be monitored closely. It may be necessary to see your doctor several times a week.

MISSED PROTROPIN DOSE:
It is important to use each dose at the scheduled time. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor who will help establish a new dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

PROTROPIN STORAGE:
Store PROTROPIN in the refrigerator as directed. Do not freeze. Do not use this if the solution is cloudy. Properly discard of any unused medication after the expiration date marked on the label.
