PULMOZYME DESCRIPTION:
DEOXYRIBONUCLEASE (DORNASE ALPHA) - INHALATION (dee-OX-ee-rye-bow-NEW-klee-aze, DOOR-naze Al-fa)

PULMOZYME SIDE EFFECTS:
Laryngitis, hoarseness or dry throat may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop unusual coughing or wheezing, a rash, chest pain, irritation or redness of the eyes or have breathing trouble while taking PULMOZYME. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE PULMOZYME:
PULMOZYME: PULMOZYME is inhaled into the lungs using special breathing machine called a nebulizer usually once or twice a day as prescribed. A health care professional will demonstrate the proper way to prepare the medication and use the machine. Do not increase your dose or take this more frequently than directed. Your condition will not improve faster but the chance for side effects will be increased. Do not stop using this medication without first consulting your doctor.

PULMOZYME USES:
PULMOZYME works in the lungs to break up thick, sticky mucous that clogs airways. It helps improve breathing and reduces the risk of lung infections in persons with cystic fibrosis. This is used with other medications and physical therapy in the management of cystic fibrosis.

PULMOZYME PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing illness or any allergies. PULMOZYME should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if PULMOZYME appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

PULMOZYME DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription or medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

PULMOZYME OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

PULMOZYME NOTES:
To receive maximum benefit from PULMOZYME, it is important to know how to use the inhaler properly. Be sure you understand and follow the directions closely.

MISSED PULMOZYME DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

PULMOZYME STORAGE:
Store the medication in the refrigerator. Do not store it in the bathroom. Properly discard of any unused medication after the expiration date on the label.
