SALAGEN DESCRIPTION:
PILOCARPINE - ORAL (pie-low-KAR-peen)

SALAGEN SIDE EFFECTS:
Sweating, stomach upset, runny nose, flushing, chills, dizziness, weakness, and frequent urination may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop any of these highly unlikely symptoms: skin rash, anxiety, mood changes, headache, vomiting, eye pain, rapid or slowed heart rate, chest pain, tremor, breathing trouble. SALAGEN may affect your vision, especially at night. Use caution driving. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE SALAGEN:
SALAGEN: Take SALAGEN by mouth exactly as prescribed usually three times a day. Take each dose with a full glass of water. Do not increase the dose or take this more often than directed since the chance of side effects will be increased.

SALAGEN USES:
SALAGEN causes an increase in saliva flow. It is used to treat dry mouth.

SALAGEN PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have: gallbladder problems, urinary tract disorders, asthma, lung disease, heart disease, psychiatric illness, any allergies. SALAGEN should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if SALAGEN appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

SALAGEN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: heart medication, asthma medication. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

SALAGEN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

SALAGEN NOTES:
If SALAGEN causes you to sweat, be sure to drink fluids to prevent dehydration. Continue taking SALAGEN unless instructed differently by your doctor. It may take up to 12 weeks to notice significant improvement.

MISSED SALAGEN DOSE:
Take SALAGEN as directed. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

SALAGEN STORAGE:
Store SALAGEN at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.
