SPASTRIN DESCRIPTION:
ERGOTAMINE/BELLADONNA/PHENOBARBITAL - ORAL TABLET (er-GOT-uh-meen/bell-uh-DON-uh/fee-no-BARB-ih-tall)

Bellamine-S, Bellaspas, Bellergal-S

SPASTRIN SIDE EFFECTS:
Dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, nausea, constipation, heartburn, nervousness, headache, flushing, dry mouth, change in taste perception, increased sensitivity to light or a bloated feeling may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, difficulty urinating, confusion, tremor, restlessness, skin rash, fever. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE SPASTRIN:
SPASTRIN: Take SPASTRIN by mouth, usually one in the morning and one in the evening. Or take as directed by your doctor.

SPASTRIN USES:
SPASTRIN is used to relieve symptoms of certain stomach/intestinal disorders such as "nervous stomach"; symptoms of menopause including hot flashes (flushes), sweats, restlessness and insomnia; certain types of throbbing headaches; and certain heart/blood vessel disorders such as heart palpitations or rapid heart rate.

SPASTRIN PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: heart problems, liver problems, glaucoma, urinary problems, Parkinson's disease, muscle problems (myasthenia gravis), ulcers, any allergies you may have. Because SPASTRIN may make you dizzy or drowsy, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit or avoid alcohol consumption. This combination product must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. SPASTRIN is excreted into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

SPASTRIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may use, especially of: digoxin, cyclosporine, saquinavir, ritonavir, sleep medicines, "triptan" drugs (e.g., sumatriptan), beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol). Tell your doctor if you take any drugs that make you drowsy, such as: tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), tranquilizers, certain antihistamines found in cold medicines (e.g., diphenhydramine). SPASTRIN may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

SPASTRIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include blurred vision, dilated pupils, hot and dry skin, dizziness, dryness of mouth, and slow or shallow breathing.

SPASTRIN NOTES:
Do not share SPASTRIN with others.

MISSED SPASTRIN DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

SPASTRIN STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom.
