SUPPRELIN DESCRIPTION:
HISTRELIN - INJECTION (HISS-treh-lin)

SUPPRELIN SIDE EFFECTS:
SUPPRELIN may cause headache, stomach upset, gas, diarrhea, breast tenderness, vaginal dryness, vaginal bleeding, muscle aches, mood changes, sweating or changes in vision. These effects should disappear as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following while taking SUPPRELIN: skin rash, itching, flushing, swelling of the hands/feet/face, rapid heartbeat, difficulty swallowing, trouble breathing. You may experience redness, irritation or swelling at the injection site. If this continues or becomes severe, contact your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HOW TO USE SUPPRELIN:
SUPPRELIN: SUPPRELIN is given as an injection once a day. It is important to have the injection at the same time each day. Do not skip doses or take this more often than once a day. Rotate the injection site each day to prevent irritation. Use upper arms, thighs and the abdomen as directed. This comes as a kit with injections for a 7 day period. Read and follow the patient instructions carefully. Your doctor will demonstrate how to administer the injections at home. Be sure to ask if you have any questions.
SUPPRELIN USES:
SUPPRELIN is a hormone used to treat early onset of puberty.
SUPPRELIN PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have: any pre-existing illnesses, any allergies. SUPPRELIN should not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. It is not known if histrelin is excreted into breast milk. The manufacturer of histrelin says histrelin should not be given to nursing mothers. Consult your doctor.
SUPPRELIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medications you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
SUPPRELIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
SUPPRELIN NOTES:
Laboratory tests will be done periodically while taking SUPPRELIN to check the effectiveness.
MISSED SUPPRELIN DOSE:
It is important to take SUPPRELIN once a day at the same time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
SUPPRELIN STORAGE:
Store SUPPRELIN in the refrigerator. Do not store this in the freezer. Remove one vial at a time from the package and let it sit to reach room temperature before using it. Use each vial only once and discard of it properly.
