SUPRAX DESCRIPTION:
CEFIXIME SUSPENSION - ORAL (seff-ICKS-eem)

SUPRAX SIDE EFFECTS:
SUPRAX may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting. Take with food or milk to minimize these effects. If they continue or become severe, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor immediately if an allergic reaction occurs while taking SUPRAX. Symptoms include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. Inform your doctor if any of the following effects occur: headache, dizziness, fatigue, muscle aches, strange taste in mouth. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE SUPRAX:
SUPRAX: SUPRAX may be taken without regard to meals. Shake well before using. Check the expiration date and discard any unused portion after 14 days. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do this by taking the medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day and night. Continue to take SUPRAX until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection. Certain infections can be treated with a single one-time dose. Follow directions carefully.

SUPRAX USES:
SUPRAX is a cephalosporin-type antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, middle ear infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections and tonsillitis.

SUPRAX PRECAUTIONS:
Persons allergic to penicillin-type antibiotics should use SUPRAX with caution. An allergy may exist to this as well. Use of SUPRAX for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). SUPRAX should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Since small amounts of SUPRAX appear in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

SUPRAX DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all the prescription and nonprescription medication you use, especially of: gout drugs (e.g., probenecid), carbamazepine. SUPRAX may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Diabetics should be aware SUPRAX may cause false positive urine glucose tests. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about alternative ways to monitor your sugar levels. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

SUPRAX OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include muscle spasms and seizures.

SUPRAX NOTES:
SUPRAX has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. A different medication may be necessary.

MISSED SUPRAX DOSE:
If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose.

SUPRAX STORAGE:
Store at room temperature or refrigerate. Both methods good for 14 days. Do not store in the bathroom.
