TORADOL DESCRIPTION:
KETOROLAC - ORAL (kee-TOE-row-lack)

TORADOL SIDE EFFECTS:
Stomach upset is the most common side effect. Nausea, vomiting, bloating, gas, or loss of appetite may also occur. If these effects become bothersome or severe, notify your doctor. Inform your doctor if you develop: persistent stomach pain; black or bloody stools; ringing in the ear, vision changes. TORADOL may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Avoid activities requiring alertness if this occurs. Infrequently, TORADOL may increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight. If this happens to you, avoid prolonged sun exposure, wear protective clothing, and use a sunscreen. Avoid sunlamps. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE TORADOL:
TORADOL: Oral ketorolac must be used only after you have already used the injectable form of ketorolac. If you have been prescribed the oral form of ketorolac without first having recieved the injectable form, contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking the first dose. Though it is unlikely to occur, a severe allergic reaction is possible after taking the first dose. Take TORADOL as directed. Do not increase your dose or take it more often than prescribed without your doctor's approval. TORADOL is used for only a short period of time. The combined use of injectable ketorolac and oral ketorolac should not exceed 5 days. Take TORADOL with food, milk or antacids to prevent stomach upset. Take TORADOL with 6 to 8 ounces (180-240ml) of water. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking TORADOL.

TORADOL WARNING:
Do not use oral and/or injectable ketorolac for mild or chronic pain nor should their combined use go longer than 5 days. Use only the amount prescribed. Do not use TORADOL if you are in labor, breast-feeding, have stomach problems (e.g., peptic ulcer), major kidney problems, bleeding problems, severe dehydration, or if you are having surgery. Do not use ketorolac while using aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen). "Blood thinners" (e.g., heparin, warfarin) should be used with extreme caution. Do not use ketorolac if you are allergic to aspirin, NSAID or ketorolac itself. Elderly patients, those weighing less than 110-lbs (50kg), and those with mild kidney problems require smaller doses. Consult your doctor.

TORADOL USES:
Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that relieves pain and reduces swelling. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain usually after surgery.

TORADOL PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history especially: liver disease, kidney disease, blood disorders, ulcers, heart disease, alcohol use, high blood pressure, eye disease, any allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution when performing tasks requiring alertness. Limit alcohol intake as it may intensify the drowsiness effect of this medication. This medicine may cause stomach bleeding. Daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Check with your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Do not take aspirin without consulting your doctor. Check the ingredients of any nonprescription medication you may be taking since many cough-and-cold formulas contain aspirin. Caution is advised when TORADOL is used in the elderly. TORADOL should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Use of TORADOL during the last 6 months of pregnancy is not recommended. TORADOL is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

TORADOL DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: "blood thinners" (e.g., warfarin), other arthritis medication (including aspirin), "water pills", lithium, probenecid. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

TORADOL OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, dark stool, ringing in the ears, change in amount of urine, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, muscle weakness, slow or shallow breathing, confusion, severe headache or loss of consciousness.

TORADOL NOTES:
Do not share TORADOL with others.

MISSED TORADOL DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.

TORADOL STORAGE:
Store at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture. Do not store in bathroom.
