TRUSOPT DESCRIPTION:
DORZOLAMIDE OPHTH SOLN (door-ZOHL-uh-mide)

TRUSOPT SIDE EFFECTS:
TRUSOPT may temporarily sting or burn your eye for a minute or two when first applied. Headache, fatigue, sensitivity of eyes to light and nausea have also been reported. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for a few minutes after applying eye drops. If you notice any of the following serious side effects, stop using TRUSOPT and consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately: eye/eyelid swelling, pain, redness, discharge. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects: stomach pain, dark urine, easy bruising or bleeding, vision changes, persistent sore throat, fever. An allergic reaction to TRUSOPT is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE TRUSOPT:
TRUSOPT: TRUSOPT is for use in the eye(s) as directed, usually one drop in the affected eye(s) up to three times a day. Apply eye drops as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or let it touch your eye. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place dropper directly over eye and administer the prescribed number of drops. Look downward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure. This will prevent the medication from draining away from the eye. Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. Do not rinse the dropper. Wash hands after use. If you are using another kind of eye drop, wait at least ten minutes before applying other medications.

TRUSOPT USES:
TRUSOPT is used in the eye to lower eye pressure. It is used to treat glaucoma and elevated eye pressure.

TRUSOPT PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have pre-existing kidney disease, liver disease, illnesses, have had eye surgery, and if you have any allergies, especially allergies to sulfa drugs. TRUSOPT may make you dizzy or cause blurred vision; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Soft contact lenses should be removed before administering TRUSOPT. The lenses may be reinserted 15 minutes after using dorzolamide. TRUSOPT should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether TRUSOPT passes into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using TRUSOPT is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

TRUSOPT DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, especially brinzolamide and other glaucoma eye drops; oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (e.g., acetazolamide, dichlorphenamide, methazolamide); and high- dose salicylates (e.g., aspirin for rheumatoid arthritis). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

TRUSOPT OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

TRUSOPT NOTES:
Most persons with glaucoma or elevated eye pressure do not have any symptoms so it may be hard to remember to use this medication. But to be most effective, TRUSOPT must be used continuously.

MISSED TRUSOPT DOSE:
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not apply it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

TRUSOPT STORAGE:
Close the container tightly after each use. Store at room temperature (between 59 and 86 degrees F) away from heat and light. Discard this if the solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
