Drug Name: VASOCINE

VASOCINE DESCRIPTION:
COMBINATION ANTIBIOTIC AND STEROID - OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT

COMMON VASOCINE BRAND NAME(S):
Blephamide, Metimyd, Neodecadron, Tobradex, Vasocidin

VASOCINE SIDE EFFECTS:
VASOCINE may temporarily sting your eyes for a minute or two when you first use it. If stinging persists or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable after applying this ointment. Use caution when driving or performing duties that require clear vision. Notify your doctor if you develop a skin rash, itching, redness, swelling in or around the eyes or experience vision problems while using VASOCINE. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE VASOCINE:
VASOCINE: For best effect, VASOCINE must be used routinely as directed. Continue using it for the full time prescribed. Stopping VASOCINE too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection. To apply ointment, wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the tip of the tube to your hand or eye. Warm the tube in your hand before using. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place tip of tube directly over the pouch and apply the prescribed amount of ointment. Blink gently. Do not rinse the tip of the tube. Use a clean tissue to wipe any excess from your eye and from the tip of the tube after using. If you are also using drops, be sure to instill the drops at least 5 minutes prior to the ointment. If you are using another kind of ointment, wait at least ten minutes before applying it to the eye. Do not wear contact lenses while using this product.

VASOCINE USES:
VASOCINE is used to treat or prevent eye infections.

VASOCINE PRECAUTIONS:
Be sure to tell your doctor if you are using any other eye medicine (including nonprescription). Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of any eye problems, contact lens use and of any allergies you may have. VASOCINE should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

VASOCINE OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

VASOCINE NOTES:
If the tube is first warmed in the hand prior to use, the ointment will flow more easily.

MISSED VASOCINE DOSE:
Apply the missed dose as soon as remembered unless it is nearly time for the next dose. If it is near time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule.

VASOCINE STORAGE:
Store VASOCINE at room temperature away from heat and sunlight. Avoid freezing it.
