YODOXIN DESCRIPTION:
IODOQUINOL - ORAL (eye-oh-doh-KWIN-ohl)

YODOXIN SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, dizziness or rectal itching may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, hives, itching, fever, chills, vision changes, tingling of the fingers or toes. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HOW TO USE YODOXIN:
YODOXIN: Take YODOXIN by mouth as directed usually three times a day after meals for twenty days. This works best when the medicine is taken consistently. It should be taken at evenly spaced intervals around the clock. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to help determine a dosing schedule best for you. Take YODOXIN for the full time prescribed. Do not stop taking this without your doctor's approval. Stopping therapy too soon may result in ineffective treatment.
YODOXIN USES:
YODOXIN is used to treat certain types of parasitic infections in the intestines.
YODOXIN PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have: liver disease, kidney disease, eye trouble, thyroid disorders, any allergies (especially to iodine or shell fish). YODOXIN should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Since small amounts of YODOXIN appear in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
YODOXIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: thyroid drugs. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
YODOXIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
YODOXIN NOTES:
Improvement in symptoms may occur within a few days to a few weeks. If the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve after a few weeks or appears to be worse, notify your doctor.
MISSED YODOXIN DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
YODOXIN STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat, light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom.
