Drug Name: ZYFLO

ZYFLO DESCRIPTION:
ZILEUTON - ORAL (zigh-LEW-ten)

Zyflo

ZYFLO SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea, drowsiness, constipation and dizziness may occur. If these continue or are bothersome, notify your doctor. Notify your doctor if stomach pain or unusual weakness occur. Unlikely, but report yellowing of the skin or eyes, unusual fatigue or muscle aches, chest pain or insomnia. Notify your doctor immediately in the unlikely event an allergic reaction occurs. Symptoms include difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching or fever. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE ZYFLO:
ZYFLO: Take as directed. Do not exceed the prescribed dosage. Treatment can be continued, even during acute asthma attacks. Do not stop taking ZYFLO unless directed to do so by your doctor. Do not decrease the dose or stop taking any other anti-asthma medication unless directed by your physician.

ZYFLO USES:
ZYFLO is used for the prevention and treatment of chronic asthma. It is not intended for acute attacks.

OTHER USES OF ZYFLO:
ZYFLO may also be used to minimize breathing problems caused by exercising or sensitivity to aspirin.

ZYFLO PRECAUTIONS:
Before taking ZYFLO, tell your doctor if you have liver disease or any allergies. ZYFLO should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether ZYFLO is excreted into human milk. The manufacturer recommends you avoid breast-feeding while taking ZYFLO. Consult your doctor. Asthmatic patients should always seek prompt medical attention if short-acting inhalers (bronchodilators) are needed more often than usual to treat wheezing or difficulty breathing. Limit alcohol intake due to the potential liver problems it can cause.

ZYFLO DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may take, especially theophylline, warfarin, propranolol, terfenadine and astemizole. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

ZYFLO OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

ZYFLO NOTES:
Do not share ZYFLO with anyone.

MISSED ZYFLO DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

ZYFLO STORAGE:
